Privacy Policy
Atomic Labs does not operate a server that collects your TV Remote usage or pairing data, and we do not sell personal information. The app does save information on your phone and communicates with your TV. Advertising, purchases, and optional speech recognition involve third-party services, as explained below.
1. About this policy
This policy explains how TV Remote (also referred to as Atomic Labs TV Remote), published by Atomic Labs, handles information. It applies to this Android app, including its advertising-supported version and optional ad-removal purchase. You do not create an Atomic Labs account to use the app.
2. TV connections and information on your phone
The app discovers compatible televisions on your local network and exchanges pairing information, remote-control commands, TV status, and text you choose to send with the television you connect to. Device names and local network addresses are used to find and reconnect to your TV. These communications are necessary for the remote features and are not routed through an Atomic Labs server.
The app stores saved TV details and nicknames, pairing credentials, pinned-app choices, settings, consent information, and a verified purchase-entitlement cache locally on your phone. Its app catalog is curated; it does not require an inventory of apps installed on your phone.
If the app crashes, it may save a limited diagnostic report locally, including the app version, Android version, time, exception types, and stack traces. This report is not automatically sent to Atomic Labs. If you choose to send a report to support, we receive the information you send.
3. Advertising and Google AdMob
The app integrates Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) to display ads. Google may collect and share your IP address (which can indicate approximate location), app and ad interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers, including the advertising ID and app set ID. These are used to provide and measure advertising, analyze performance, and prevent fraud. Collection depends on the SDK, your device settings, consent choices, and the ads served.
This processing occurs through Google's services even though Atomic Labs does not maintain its own database of this information. Where required, the app presents Google's consent form and offers privacy options in Settings. You can also manage or delete your advertising ID in Android settings. An active ad-removal purchase removes ads; it does not erase information previously processed by Google.
Read Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
4. Purchases
Google Play processes the optional one-time ad-removal purchase. The app receives purchase information, such as the product identifier, purchase token, purchase status, and signed purchase information, to verify, acknowledge, and restore your entitlement. Verification and the entitlement cache are handled on the device in the current implementation. Atomic Labs does not receive or store your full payment-card details. Google handles payment and transaction records under its own policies.
5. Optional voice dictation and text
If you use voice dictation, the app opens your phone's system speech-recognition service. That provider may record and process audio on its servers under its own privacy policy and settings. TV Remote does not directly record microphone audio. Recognized text is returned to the app for review and is sent to your connected TV when you choose to send it. Typed text follows the same local TV-control path.
When you launch a TV app or open its store listing, that app, the TV platform, and the store handle any subsequent activity under their own policies.
6. Information you send to support
If you email us, Atomic Labs and its email service receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to provide. We use this information to respond to your request and troubleshoot the app. Please do not send passwords, pairing secrets, or payment-card information. We retain support correspondence only as long as needed to address the request and meet applicable legal obligations; you can ask us to delete it.
7. Security
The app uses encrypted TLS connections for pairing and TV control and stores its client identity in an encrypted bundle protected by Android Keystore. Google's Mobile Ads SDK encrypts its transmitted data using TLS. App backup and device-transfer exclusions are configured for the app's stored data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
8. Retention, deletion, and your choices
- Local app information: Saved information remains on your phone until removed or replaced. Use the app's forget-device option to remove a saved TV. Clear TV Remote's storage in Android settings or uninstall the app to remove its local settings, pairing data, entitlement cache, and local diagnostic report.
- Purchases: Clearing local data does not cancel a purchase or delete Google's transaction records. A valid entitlement may be restored through Google Play.
- Third-party information: Google and your speech provider apply their own retention rules. Use their privacy controls or contact them about information they hold. Deleting the app does not automatically delete their records.
- Privacy requests: Contact us to ask about access, correction, or deletion of information you have provided directly to Atomic Labs, or to exercise other rights available under applicable law. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.
There is no Atomic Labs app account to delete and no Atomic Labs server-side store of your TV pairing or remote-control history.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the app's data practices change and revise the effective date. Where a change requires notice or consent, we will provide it as required.
10. Contact
